Common Program Models :: essays papers

Common Program ModelsThere are various forms of year-round education. The program consists of several plans including, supposition 6, multi tracks, and single tracks. These options allow schools to provide a better working environment for students. Most calendars are designed to split the school year into periods with vacation time, called intersession. hotshot popular plan that has been proven to be successful is the concept 6 program.Concept 6 plan has been used successfully at both wide-eyed and secondary levels. It is particularly useful when there is lack of space. It requires that students be split into three groups, with one group always on vacation, thus releasing a considerable amount of space for instructional use. A high school built for 1,600 students can house 2,400 under a Concept 6 three-track plan. It besides can be administered in a single-track pattern. The Concept 6 plan calls for vi terms of approximately 43 mean solar days each. Students attend fo ur of the six terms but must attend two of their four terms consecutively. The plan provides for 160 or more days a year. In states where one hundred seventy-five or more days of attendance are required, additional days can be completed by over-lapping the groups on half-day sessions the first and last day of each term, by independent study and intersession programs, or by creative off-campus group activities. In states that mandate the number of minuets per year in various subjects as a substitute for the number of days, Concept 6 can operate effectively by extending the minuets of instruction each day so that the total collecting of minutes of instruction each day so that the total accumulation of minutes equals the minimum number of days required by the state. (Ballinger C.E, pp. 23)Standard multi-track schedules intromit the 60-20 and 45-15 schedule. Both of these calendars can work in the form of single track scheduling, using multi-tracks school facilities get more use b ecause different groups are in and out of the school, allowing the school to cater to more students. There are benefits for the single track plans. Experts say that single tracks improve attendance and the students are more attentive (Rasmussen, 2000). The main difference between the two is that during single-track programs all of the students and staff follow the same calendar, where as the multi tracks have several different tracks that students and staff are divided into.

How James Watt Affected The Economic Growth Of Our Nation :: American America History

How James due west Affected The Economic fruit Of Our demesneJames Watt made many contributions to this verdant during the Industrial Revolution. He made numerous improvements on the Newcome steam clean engine, invented the term horse power, and designed the sunlight and Planet wheel. He contributed most of his life to dissemble others lives easier and for them to prosper and grow.In 1763 John Anderson asked Watt to rep line of work one of his steam engines which was an early version of a Newcome steam engine. This engine squandered a muss of time and fuel so it was economically inefficient. The reasons for the inefficiency was the cylinder had to be heated when steam was admitted and then soft cool downed down again to condense the steam. This process wasted a lot of time, energy, and steam. As he was wandering through Glasgow Green he struck upon an thought process that would revolutionize the steam engine. This idea was that in target to make the best use of the steam it was necessary that first, that the cylinder should always remain as lively as the steam which entered it secondly that when the steam was condensed, the piddle of which it is composed, and injection itself, should be cooled down to a 100 degrees, or lower where it is possible. This method did not toy at first, but in 1765 he discover that if a communication were opened between a cylinder containing steam and another vessel, which was worn down of air and other fluids, the steam, as an elastic fluid would instantly rush into the empty vessel, and wait to do so until it had established an equilibrium. If that vessel were kept dry and cool by an injection, or otherwise, more steam would continue to enter until the whole was condensed. He fixed the problem of water and air coming out of the exhausted vessel by adding a pump to buy food both air and water. This is Watts great contribution to the Newcome steam engine which would now run faster, cleaner, safer, and more economi cally efficient. This made the steam engine a utile economical source of power which for over a hundred years stayed exactly the same without alteration.Watt charged his customers a price for using his steam engines. To justify this he compared his machine to a horse. Watt calculated that a horse exerted a suck in of 180 lbs., therefore, when he made a machine, he described its power in relation to a horse. How James Watt Affected The Economic Growth Of Our Nation American America HistoryHow James Watt Affected The Economic Growth Of Our NationJames Watt made many contributions to this country during the Industrial Revolution.
